About
Michaela writes for the watcher. Her work explores belonging, grief, mis/communication, and social injustice. Originally from NYC, she now resides in Oxford, UK and is an active member of the Oxford Writing Circle, Oxford Poetry Library, and several London-based writing groups.

Her work has been published in The Talon Review, Pink Disco Magazine, Cassandra Voices, The Oxford Review of Books, BarBar, and Clepsydra, among others. In prose, she was shortlisted for the 2019 Benjamin Franklin House Literary Prize, won first prize for Tales for the Ones in Love's Nature 2020-21 contest, was a top 5 finalist for the 2024 Rockvale Writers First 10 Pages Fellowship, and a top 10 finalist for the 2024 London Independent Story Prize. In poetry, she was a featured poet at the Oxford Di-Verse Festival, shortlisted for the 2024 Northwind Writing Award, a finalist in Oprelle's 2024 poetry contest, and the winner of GRAVY's winter poetry contest.

When not writing, she spends her time figure skating, performing in drag shows and educating everyone she meets about Pink Floyd. Her 145-slide presentation on the band's history has not been accepted for publication (yet).​​​
