I'm nothing if not a planner. Whether you consider it intense productivity or compensation for daydreaming too much, it's an integral part of who I am. I love filling up my calendar with events, meet-ups, maps and word goals; it gives the aesthetic of a full life, and often manifests as rushing against England's sharp, damp winds to grab the train to wherever, or intermittently staring at a notebook and being too scared to confront its pages.
That said, I'm delighted to reveal my plan for this blog:
First, migrate the 4 or so posts from my Substack, which are excerpts from the second major fiction project I'm working on (the first is sitting in a few literary agents' inboxes).
This project requires vast amounts of time and research, spurred on by my personal interest in eschatology and the future of humanity. So, every week or two, I'll post a review of the latest resource I'm reading for this project, with an abridged version posted as a reel on my Instagram. I hope you find some inspiration.
Every time I receive an acceptance or rejection, I'll scribble some thoughts here. The rejection posts won't be laden with self-pity, but instead offer some insight into how a writer reacts when that fateful "unfortunately" appears.
If you're reading this, you're interested in what I have to say, which is itself a compliment. Feel free to subscribe so you don't miss an update, and check out my obsessively-curated playlists if you fancy.
Thanks for being here.
